Hiren and niki Zaveri
When did you first hear about the Community Foundation?
My wife and I heard about the Community Foundation in October of 2022 through a friend.
What made you initially decide to become an annual member?
Once we saw all the projects that the Community Foundation had in mind and in place for the community, we knew we wanted to support the initiatives and be a part of the Community Foundation. I heard about the 50-Year Resilience Plan last year and this was the reason me and my wife wanted to become members of the Community Foundation.
If you had to choose, what is your favorite catalytic project?
My favorite catalytic project is the Bayou Greenbelt. I'm excited to see this project become a reality in the future. It will be nice to see the waterways connected and will improve the quality of life in SWLA.
Even not being from the area, Niki feels the same way.
My husband and I are excited to be a part of the foundation because of all the innovative changes being brought to the area.
My husband, Hiren, was born and raised in Lake Charles and has a huge love for this city. I am as people say, a transplant, brought to Lake Charles from California, by my husband, and after five years of living here, I couldn't imagine calling any other place home.
We are proud to be a part of this community and are excited about any impactful changes to come in the future of SWLA.
